There is a new feature in Windows 7 that reminds me of linux and mac shortcuts.  This new feature is not very publicized but is a very cool feature of the new Windows 7 OS.  If you open up a command prompt or a web browser and you want to quickly open up another command prompt window all you need to do is to hold down the shift key and left click on the taskbar icon for the application that you want to open up more windows for.  This to me is a major step up for Windows 7.  Seems that Microsoft is finally catching up to Mac and Linux who have had this type of functionality for a while now.  To perform this function in Mac OS X all you need to do is type “Command” + N.  To perform this action in Linux, you need to open up a command prompt and press Ctrl + Shift + N.
