So you upgraded to Windows 7 and your VMWare VSphere client isn’t working anymore….No problem…This is an easy fix.  Just download the following file:  System.dll .  Then just create the following folder:  c:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Virtual Infrastructure Client\Launcher\lib .Now copy the System.dll file into the lib directory.  Now you need to open up the following file in notepad:  c:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Virtual Infrastructure Client\Launcher\VpxClient.exe.config and add the following lines to it after the </appSettings>:

<runtime>
<developmentMode developerInstallation=”true”/>
</runtime>

From the Windows 7 ‘System Properties’ click the ‘Advanced’ tab and then the ‘Environment Variables’ button as we want to add a new ‘System’ variable.

DEVPATH

c:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Virtual Infrastructure Client\Launcher\Lib

That’s it.  You can now run VMware VSphere client in Windows 7.
